Cardiff Credit Union provides free life insurance on members' savings.  In the event of a member's death: 

The insurance monies plus the member's savings are paid to the beneficiary nominated by the member.  A member can change the nominated beneficiary at any time by completing the appropriate form which can be obtained from the office.  

Savings are covered, up to a limit of  £5000, for an equal amount of life insurance, based on the balance of savings at the date of death and the age of the member when the savings were deposited i.e.-

Age at date of deposit                   Amount of cover

16 to 64 years                               100% of savings

65 to 79 years                                25% of savings

80 years and over                           nil
